Welcome to Treasure Cay and Villas #615 and #637. Treasure Cay is a community on the Bahamian island of Great Abaco. Abaco is located 175 miles due east of West Palm Beach, about 120 miles long and 15 miles wide, with a population of about 15,000 native Bahamians residing at Marsh Harbor, Cooperstown and Treasure Cay. Treasure Cay is located at the center of the island and has its own airport 10 miles from the resort and is accessible from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando Florida. This means you are only a little more than 4 hours from Boston via a variety of airlines. You will need a US passport (if you are from the states) to enter and the customs officials are very friendly. By the way, there is a departure tax of $15.00. (This might be included in the price of your plane ticket)

The resort has an 18 hole golf course, marina, 6 tennis courts, Spinnaker Restaurant, Tipsy Seagull Bar, Mooring’s sailboat charters, C & C boat rental, JIC Boat Rental and dive shop, and a spectacular 3˝ mile beach.

Villas #615 and #637 are a short distance from the swimming pool and the beach cabana (both maintained by the villa association to insure privacy) and a stone’s throw from the tennis courts. Transportation is either by foot, bike or golf cart. Golf carts and fishing boats can be rented inexpensively from John Cash near the marina. Bikes or cars can be rented at the shopping center. The shopping area has a grocery store, liquor store, bank, doctor, dentist, and post office.

Our villas, 615 and 637, are completely furnished with pots, pans, linens, beach towels, ironing board, and lawn furniture. The villas have two large bedrooms, each with twin beds. A full bath is located off each bedroom. The kitchens features toaster, microwave oven, coffee maker and place settings for eight. The living rooms are spacious with sliding doors leading to the patios. Villas have phones, cable television, heating, and air conditioning.

Since Villas 615, and 637 are our home away from Maine, we would like to share some of our discoveries with you. Probably you’ll be met by Jackie Bootle, our friend and taxi driver. Donna Hudson, (Jackie's sister), heads the cleaning crew and the laundry; Ivan Russell - the tennis pro is very helpful and a delight; Simpson - the fisherman, will help you arrange fishing or diving trips; Vivian - The Rolling Kitchen, has outstanding home cooking; Don’t miss the warm cinnamon buns early in the morning at Florence's Cafe; the entire crew at the Tipsy Seagull make you feel welcome and serve the best “Goombay Smash” on the island.

Take a few days and visit surrounding islands of Green Turtle Cay, Elbow Cay, Man-of-War Cay and Guana Cay. Any of the folks mentioned above can help you with details.

The Spinnaker Restaurant is conveniently located by the marina. Also the Touch of Class is a local restaurant with great native dishes. (Call them for a pickup at your villa.)

You can usually get fresh conch from the blue truck in the parking lot, lobster from several natives at the “Tipsy” and vegetables from “Two Dollar Paul”. Also the grocery store has a fine selection of meats and produce. As you can see Beth and I are thrilled about Treasure Cay and Villas 615 and 637, so bring your cut off jeans and enjoy - no need for ties and dresses. You will note nothing is locked so feel free to use foods or liquors,Many flowers simply replace for others to use. Return the key to Donna so her people can get the Villa ready for the next guests. Happy new year and “Haste ye Back”.

P.S. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the Beach Villa Owners Assn. at no charge.

Golf carts are about $40/day $245/week and $735/month
